July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Drive Shaft Seal

Tools Required:
J 33942-B-Compressor Shaft Seal Remover
J 34614-Compressor Shaft Seal Protector

Remove or Disconnect

1. Clutch assembly.
2. Oil felt and retainer from compressor drive shaft bore, using a flat screwdriver.
3. Key from drive shaft.

Removing Drive Shaft Snap Ring:





4. Seal snap ring, using snap ring pliers.
5. Insert tool J 33942-B into seal.
6. Turn tool J 33942-B until making contact with seal notches.

Removing Drive Shaft Seal:





7. Pull seal away from compressor. Discard seal.

Install or Connect

Installing Drive Shaft Seal Protector Tool:





1. Slide tool J 34614 into compressor shaft.
2. Lubricate new seal with PAG oil.
3. Engage tool J 33942-B to seal notches.

Installing Drive Shaft Seal:





4. Slide seal into compressor drive shaft.
5. New seal snap ring, using snap ring pliers.
6. Key into drive shaft groove.
7. New oil felt and retainer inside the bore.
8. Clutch Assembly.
