Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch

NOTE: PNP switch may also be known as Transaxle Range (TR) sensor or neutral safety switch. Adjust switch so engine starts with transaxle in Park or Neutral only.
  1. Remove PNP switch mounting bolt and switch. Using a flat-blad screwdriver, turn slot clockwise or counterclockwise until 2 distinct "clicks" are heard. See Fig 1. Place gearshift lever in Neutral. Ensure transaxle shift lever is in neutral detent. Install switch and tighten mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Set parking brake, block drive wheels and ensure starter operates with transaxle in Neutral and Park only.
