Electronic Brake Control Module: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The EBCM is a small control computer located under the trim panel on the lefthand side of the passenger compartment on wagon models, and on the lefthand side of the luggage compartment on sedan models. This computer monitors the speed of each wheel and the electrical status of the hydraulic modulator. The primary functions of EBCM are to detect wheel locking, control the brake function while in anti-lock mode and monitor system for correct electrical operation. The EBCM also controls the display of the ABS diagnostic trouble codes. If the EBCM detects a fault, it can disable the ABS system and activate the ABS warning lamp.
