Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Catalytic Converter Assembly:

Exhaust System:

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Raise and support vehicle
2. Remove converter clamp assembly at exhaust crossover pipe assembly
3. Remove exhaust pipe bolts
4. Remove exhaust pipe assembly from converter assembly
5 Remove catalytic converter hanger bolts
6. Remove converter assembly

Install or Connect:
1. Install converter assembly to converter hanger
2. Install and tighten converter hanger bolts
Torque Value: 41 N-m (30 ft.lb.)
3. Connect exhaust pipe assembly to converter assembly
4. Tighten exhaust bolts
Torque Value: 20 N-m (15 ft.lb.)
5. Tighten converter clamp
Torque Value: 68 N-m (50 ft.lb.)
6. Lower vehicle
