Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Converter Hanger Assembly:

REMOVAL:
1. Using suitable jack, raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove bolts at intermediate pipe.
3. Remove intermediate pipe from converter.
4. Remove clamp at crossover pipe.
5. Remove air injection pipe clamp from converter.
6. Remove hanger bolts and converter.


INSTALLATION:
1. Install converter.
2. Install and tighten hanger bolts.
Torque Value: 52 N-m (38 lb.ft.)
3. Install and tighten air injection pipe and clamp.
Torque Value: 8.8 N-m (78 lb.in.)
4. Install and tighten clamp at crossover pipe.
Torque Value: 60 N-m (44 lb.ft.)
5. Install intermediate pipe to converter. Install and tighten intermediate pipe bolts.
Torque Value: 20 N-m (15 lb.ft.)
6. Lower vehicle.
