Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Reuse the air tube assembly that is already installed in the vehicle.
Install the rear air spring compressor (2) stud into the frame rail and slide the rear air spring compressor assembly (2) forward.
- Install the rear air spring compressor nuts (1) and (3), do NOT fully tighten.
Install the air suspension compressor bolt (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Tighten the rear air spring compressor nuts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Raise the rear exhaust back into position and reattach to front exhaust. Exhaust Muffler Replacement (FWD)Exhaust Muffler Replacement (AWD)
Install the air suspension compressor filter tube (1).
Connect the air suspension compressor electrical connector (1).
- CAUTION:
Do NOT exceed the torque value on the air supply fitting, over tightening may cause the plastic threads in the air compressor or the air spring to become stripped, permanently damaging the air spring compressor or air spring.
Install the air suspension compressor air line fittings (1) and tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle, but DO NOT allow the 4 tire assemblies to touch the ground.
- Pressurize the air suspension system. Air Suspension System Depressurization and Pressurization
- Continue to lower the vehicle.
- Start the vehicle and run for approximately 1 minute to ensure the air spring is completely pressurized and functioning properly.
- Raise the vehicle and with a squirt bottle filled with a soap and water solution check the air line fittings for leaks.
- Lower the vehicle.
Refer to Fastener Caution .
After reinstalling exhaust remove transmission jack from under vehicle.
Do NOT pressurize the air springs/shocks under load or damage to the air spring/shocks will occur. Always pressurize the system with the wheels of the vehicle off the ground.
