Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering gear outlet hose in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the power steering hoses to power steering gear retaining bolt and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
  4. Raise and install the front of the frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Replacement .

  5. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler hose and secure with the hose clamp.

  6. Install the power steering gear outlet hose to frame retaining bolts and tighten to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
  7. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
  8. Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  9. Install the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  12. Remove the drain pans.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
