  1. If memory seats system check was performed, go to next step. If memory seats system check was not performed, go to MEMORY SEATS SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Turn ignition on. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select MEMORY SEAT MODULE DATA DISPLAY - INPUTS function on scan tool. Move seat forward with left seat switch. If scan tool indicates an input signal was received when switch was activated, go to next step. If scan tool did not indicate an input signal was received when switch was activated, go to step  8 .
  3. Move driver's entire seat backward using left seat switch. If scan tool indicates an input signal was received when switch was activated, go to next step. If scan tool did not indicate an input signal was received when switch was activated, go to step  9 .
  4. Disconnect left forward/back motor connector. Connect a fused jumper between battery voltage and either terminal of forward/back motor. Connect a second fused jumper between other terminal of forward/back motor and ground. If motor runs, go to next step. If motor does not run, go to step  11 .
  5. Check for open or short to ground in Tan wire between Memory Seat Module (MSM) and left forward/back motor. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found, go to step  12 .
  6. Check for open or short to ground in Light Green wire between MSM and left forward/back motor. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found, go to step  13 .
  7. Replace Memory Seat Module (MSM). See MEMORY SEAT MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, recheck system operation.
  8. Disconnect left seat switch Gray, 16-pin connector. Disconnect MSM Blue, 32-pin connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Tan wire between seat switch connector terminal "E" and MSM connector C2, terminal C5. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  10 . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to step  14 .
  9. Disconnect left seat switch connector. Disconnect MSM connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Light Green wire between seat switch connector terminal "B" and MSM connector C2, terminal C6. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to step  15 .
  10. Replace left seat switch. See POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
  11. Replace left seat forward/back motor. See POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
  12. Repair open or short to ground in Tan wire between MSM and left seat forward/back motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  13. Repair open or short to ground in Light Green wire between MSM and left seat forward/back motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  14. Repair open in Tan wire between MSM and left seat switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
  15. Repair open in Light Green wire between MSM and left seat switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
