DTC B2473, High Beam Fault: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Cadillac Catera. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When BCM receives an input to turn high beam lights on, BCM grounds both headlight (high beam) relays. DTC B2473 will set when BCM detects a short to ground or open in White wire between BCM and headlight (high beam) relay. A short to ground in White wire may cause high beam indicator and right high beam headlight to illuminate. When DTC B2473 is set, BCM will continue to command state requested until it is achieved or changes. DTC B2473 will clear when conditions no longer exist or when scan tool is used.

NOTE: If DTC B2473 is a history code, problem may be intermittent. Wiggle wires while performing the following test.
