Pressure Monitoring Module - Sensor Block (Pin 5)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Cadillac Allante. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The pressure monitoring module will ground CKT 852 if low accumulator pressure or an internal pressure switch failure is detected. The BRAKE lamp is turned on when decreasing accumulator pressure reaches approximately 1400 psi (9650 kPa). The BRAKE lamp is turned off when increasing pressure reaches approximately 2100 psi (14,500 kPa).

If conditions exist which would cause the BRAKE lamp to be turned on, the pressure monitoring module will also signal the EBCM by grounding the warning pressure line (CKT 837); when the EBCM senses that CKT 837 has been grounded, anti-lock and traction control functions are disabled.

If the pressure monitoring module has turned the BRAKE lamp on, the lamp will not go out or flash during ABS/TCS diagnostic mode.
