How To Perform Test

  1. Install the J-36210 tester. See J-36210 ABS TESTER  under SPECIAL TOOLS. See Figure . Leave ignition off.
  2. Depressurize hydraulic accumulator by pumping brake pedal a minimum of 25 times until a definite change in pedal feel is achieved.
  3. No test mode buttons should be depressed. Be sure that all selector buttons are in the out (disengaged) position.
  4. Turn ignition on. The READY and PUMP MOTOR LEDs should turn on.
  5. Begin timing when the ignition is turned on. Watch BRAKE lamp in IPC and PUMP MOTOR LED on tester.
    • BRAKE lamp should turn off within 25 seconds after ignition is turned on.
    • PUMP MOTOR LED should turn off within 5 seconds after BRAKE lamp turns off.
