Installation Procedure

- Install the steering gear boot (3) to the steering linkage inner tie rod.
- Install the NEW steering gear boot inner clamp (2) to the steering gear boot.
- Install the steering gear boot to the steering gear (1). Ensure the steering gear boot is seated in the assembly groove of the steering gear.
- Use the DT-35910
pliers in order to crimp the steering gear boot inner clamp.

- Install the steering gear boot outer clamp (1).
- Install the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (2).
- If equipped, install the steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (NJ0 or NJ1) , Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (NV7, NXB, NXC, or N40) .
- Install the steering linkage outer tie rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
