Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.8L) or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.6L) .
- Remove the caps from the power steering pump fittings and hoses.
- Position the power steering pump (1) on the engine.
- Install the power steering pump mounting bolts. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY.
- Tighten the mounting bolt (3).
Tighten: Tighten the mounting bolt (3) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Tighten the rear power steering pump mounting bolt (2).
Tighten: Tighten the rear power steering pump mounting bolt (2) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
Tighten: Tighten the hose to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
- Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L (3.6L).
- Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
- Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
NOTE:

IMPORTANT:
Clean the material from the power steering pressure hose and install a new seal.
