July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outer tie rod assembly (3) to the inner tie rod assembly (1). DO NOT tighten the jam nut (2).

  2. Install the outer tie rod assembly (2) to the steering knuckle (1).

  3. Install the prevailing torque nut (2) to the outer tie rod assembly (1).

    Tighten: 

    Tighten the nut to 30 N.m (22 ft lbs) + 115 degrees of rotation

  4. Tighten the jam nut (2) against the outer tie rod assembly (3).

    Tighten: 

    Tighten the jam nut to 68 N.m (50 ft lbs)

  5. Install tire and wheel assembly.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Perform a front end alignment. Refer to CENTURY & REGAL in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
