Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

IGNITION COIL(S) REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wires. Noting the position that they were removed.
3. Remove 2 screws (1) securing the coil (2) to the ignition control module (3).
4. Remove the coil (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Attach the coil assembly (2) to the ignition control module (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install two attaching screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

3. Connect the spark plug wires.
