Cruise Control Functional Switches

On Bonneville, functional control switches are located on end of multifunction lever, which also serves as a turn signal lever. On LeSabre, functional switches are located on steering wheel.

On Bonneville, functional control switches include a SET button and a sliding main switch with ON, OFF and RESUME/ACCEL positions. LeSabre uses button-type switches with the same functions/labels as Bonneville. Button/switch functions are described as follows:

1. OFF
   
   System disengages when switch is turned off.
2. ON
   
   System is ready to be set when switch is turned on.
3. RESUME/ACCEL
   
   Switch may also be referred to as "R/A". Switch is a spring-loaded type that will not initially set cruise speed, but when cruise control has been disengaged by braking, momentarily pressing (LeSabre) or sliding (Bonneville) switch to RESUME/ACCEL position will cause cruise control to resume previously set speed. This is the resume function. Accelerate function occurs when switch is held in RESUME/ACCEL position. This causes vehicle to accelerate until switch is released. When released, system maintains new set speed. Also, by quickly pressing and releasing (tapping) RESUME/ACCEL switch, the set speed is "tapped-up" in one MPH increments.
4. SET (Coast/Set)
   
   Spring-loaded SET button engages cruise control. During engagement, if SET button is pressed and held, vehicle decelerates (cruise control disengages) until button is released. When button is released, cruise control engages and maintains new set speed. Also, by quickly pressing and releasing (tapping) SET button, the set speed is "tapped-down" in one MPH increments.
