DTC U1161: Loss Of Passenger Door Module Simple Bus Serial Data: Description

Simple Bus Interface (SBI) provides communications path from both passenger and rear door modules and power door lock switch on driver's door module. Driver door module contains both Class 2 and simple bus interface circuits, allowing it to relay messages between class 2 bus and simple bus interface.

DTC DDM U1161 is set when any simple bus interface communications problem between passenger door module and driver door module occurs. DTCs B1982 (battery voltage high) and B1983 (battery voltage low) must not be current or diagnostic will not run.

Loss of simple bus interface will cause passenger door module to go to "sleep". All power functions will be lost on passenger door (windows and door locks). Under all fault conditions, DTC DDM U1161 will clear automatically when simple bus interface becomes operational again.
