Air Bag (Inflator) Module: Removal

  1. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Disable SIR system. See AIR BAG DISABLING & ACTIVATING  .
  2. Loosen screws behind steering wheel until air bag module can be released from steering wheel. Pull up air bag module, and then disconnect electrical connectors from rear of module. Remove module and position aside with pad facing upward.
