How Is Dealership Encoding Done?

How Is Dealership Encoding Done?

Encoding is carried out by entering coding data into the control module. This is possible with one of the following BMW special encoding tools;
- MoDiC (Mobile Diagnostic Computer)
- DIS (Diagnosis and Information System)

The MoDiC or DIS converts the code into activation data that is downloaded into the control module. The control module receives the coding data and automatically activates the specific functional requirements.
The balance of the unused programs are still resident in the control module but are dormant.
