Software Formats

Special software developed by BMW is required to operate the coding/programming tools. The software is available in two formats:

- 3.5" DISC - This format is used exclusively for MoDiC downloading using the MS. 3.5" discs can not be used by the DIS.

- CD ROM - This format is loaded into the DIS to operate all of the DIS functions. The DIS ZCS coding and Engine Control Module Programming (as of DIS 10.0) functions access the software on the installed CD ROM to carry out these functions directly through the DIS.
The CD ROM also includes software for MoDiC downloading using the DIS onboard MoDiC download station.

The software programs are identical on both formats and are only to be used as outlined above.
