Coding Code (Code Number)

Only applies to encoding of DWA, EDC III and IHKR 2/3 for E32/E34 vehicles produced from 10/90-9/91.

E32 and E34 vehicles produced from 9/90 to 10/91 where not ZCS compatible. This limited range of production however requires the "coding code" to encode:
- IHKR 2 & 3
- EDC III
- DWA

These are the only control modules within this production requiring the coding code. All other replacement control modules (except [1][2]DME) within this production range are factory pre-coded.

The coding code is a single digit. Like variant coding, the single digit coding code is entered into the MoDiC. Then the MoDiC loads the correct coding data into the control module based on the single digit.
