Steering Pump Pressure
- Discharge accumulator by operating brake pedal 20 times with engine off. Disconnect pressure line from pump. Disconnect pressure line from flow control regulator. Connect Power Steering Pressure Tester (32-4-000).
- Shut gauge cut-off valve on pressure tester. Open in-line cut-off valve on pressure tester. Bleed system with engine idling. Close in-line cut-off valve on pressure tester for 10 seconds (maximum) while reading pressure.
- Pressure should be 1740-2031 psi (122-143 kg/cm2
). If pressure is not within limits, check belt tightness. Repair or replace pump if belt adjustment does not remedy problem.
