Removing
4-Cylinder 2.0L TFSI Vehicles:
Danger of breaking the engine cover.
- Always follow the removal sequence.
-- Carefully remove the engine cover from -1 - 2 - 3 - 4-.
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to [For engine(s) CCTA] Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the battery carrier.
-- If required, release the seal clip with the 80 - 200 and open up the seal.
-- Disconnect any hoses and cables in the area of the 10 - 222 A lifting eyes on the engine.
-- Set 10 - 222 A on the bolted fender flanges (vehicles until 05.2008) or the steel plate (vehicles after 05.2008), as shown in the illustration.
-- Slightly pretension the engine with the spindle, do not lift.
Vehicles with 6-Cylinder 3.2L Engine:
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA] Removal and Installation .
-- Remove air filter housing -arrows-.
-- Engage spindles in lifting eyes or at shackles.
-- Preload the engine/transmission subassembly slightly using the spindle.
All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- in order to remove the transmission support from the transmission mount.
Remove the Transmission Support:
It is not necessary to remove the transmission support in order to remove the transmission mount.
-- Remove the bolts -1-.

If the transmission support was removed -A- :
-- Install the transmission support -A- :
-- Lift the transmission by the engine support bridge spindle until transmission support touches transmission mount support arm.
Risk of damaging the threads in the transmission support by inserting bolts crooked.
- Before installing bolts -arrows-, transmission support and transmission mount support arm must be absolutely parallel to each other. If necessary, raise rear of transmission with trolley jack.
-- Remove subframe. Refer to Removal and Installation .
-- Install transmission mount support arm on transmission support.
-- Remove 10 - 222 A from engine.
-- Install battery carrier and battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to [For engine(s) CCTA] Removal and Installation or to [For engine(s) CBRA] Removal and Installation .
