MOTORCRAFT Solid State Ignition System: Overhaul: Distributor: Disassembly
- Remove distributor cap and rotor. Using suitable gear puller (J-28509), remove trigger wheel (two screwdrivers can be used to pry trigger wheel upward). Remove pin.
- Remove sensor retainer and washers from pivot pin on base plate. Remove ground screw from harness tab. Lift sensor assembly from distributor. If replacement is necessary, remove vacuum unit.
