Removal And Installation: Module
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the instrument panel cover. Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the screws (2a) and nuts (2b) for the TBM control unit (2c).
- Remove the TBM control unit (1) from underneath after releasing it from the studs and nuts.
INSTALLATION
- Check that the TBM control module is not damaged.
- Position the TBM control unit and engage it on the studs and nuts.
- Tighten the nuts (1c) on the studs, and then tighten the screws (1d) and secure the TBM control unit (1e).
- Install the instrument panel cover. Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Only if replacing the TBM control module:
- Connect the diagnostics equipment to the EOBD socket on the vehicle, go to TBM control module in the "Miscellaneous Functions" menu, launch the "Control unit" procedure and carefully follow the instructions on the diagnosis equipment.
- If the procedure completes successfully, the operator must perform the following steps:
- Check that the vehicle is located in an area where GPS and the mobile network are available.
- Turn the key on and hold it for at least 10 min (in this case, the TBM will run some activities to connect to the server and the pop up will be displayed simultaneously on the Radio screen)
- Perform a Key-Off /Key-On. The pop-up will appear on the Radio screen again.
- Wait for 2 min and perform a key-off/key-on cycle. If a pop up continues to appear on the Radio screen, the TBM is not yet ready for use. Wait another 2 minutes and perform a key-off/key-on cycle again. If the pop up on the Radio screen is no longer present, the TBM is ready for use and the procedure has been completed.
- If after 3 attempts to wait 2 minutes, perform a key-off/key-on cycle again. If the pop up is still displayed on the Radio screen, open a ticket to the Help Desk.
- Check that the vehicle is located in an area where GPS and the mobile network are available.
