DTC Troubleshooting: P0118(2.0L Engine): Inspection
ECT Sensor 1 Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.
Test Procedure
Unit output voltage inspection
- Preparation
-
- ECT sensor 1 2P connector: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Jump ECT sensor 1 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [ECT Sensor 1 Voltage].
| (Disconnected) ECT sensor 1 2P connector female terminals | |
|
|
- Normal Conditions
-
- HDS [ECT Sensor 1 Voltage] value is less than 4.92 V .
Results
- If it is normal, there is a problem with ECT sensor 1.
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.
TW, SG2 Open Wire Inspection
NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- ECT sensor 1 2P connector: disconnected
- PCM connector E (80P): disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.
| (Disconnected)ECT sensor 1 2P connectorfemale terminals | (Disconnected) PCM connector E (80P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(3.0L Engine) or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs(2.0L Engine) female terminals | ||||
| IG Mode |
|
|
Normal Conditions | ||
| TW open wire inspection | OFF | There is less than 1 Ohm | |||
| SG2 open wire inspection | OFF | There is less than 1 Ohm | |||
Results
- If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
