DTC P0882 (2024)
DTC P0882 : TCM Power Input Signal Low
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) activates and judges drive cycle by the signals from the IG1 line. The TCM sends the signal information of the IG1 line to the body control module via the F-CAN lines. The voltage input to the IG1 terminal of the TCM is detected by the voltage divider circuit inside the TCM. If the resistor in the voltage divider circuit fails, the IG1 terminal voltage cannot be detected correctly. If the signal information of the IG1 line received from the TCM is Low when the IG1 signal of the body control module is High for a set time or the IG1 terminal voltage detected by the voltage divider circuit is specified value for a set time, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Enable Conditions
| Condition | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Elapsed time after the vehicle condition is turned to the ON mode** | 3 seconds | - |
| Other* | Power is supplied to the body control module and CAN communication between the TCM and body control module is possible | |
Malfunction Threshold
One of these symptom occurs:
- Symptom 1
The signal information of the IG1 line received from the TCM is Low when the IG1 signal of the body control module is High for at least 2.0 seconds.
- Symptom 2
The IG1 terminal voltage detected by the voltage divider circuit is specified value or less for at least 5.0 seconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- TCM IG1 line open (includes connector loose connection or disconnection)
- TCM IG1 line short to ground
- TCM failure (internal circuit failure/resistor 1 open/resistor 2 short)
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for at least 8 seconds.
Diagnosis Details* 1
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on, the shift position indicator blinks, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
