ECT Sensor/ECT Sensor 1 Replacement

  1. Drain the engine coolant; '04-05 models (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT ), '06-08 models (see '06-08 MODELS ).
  2. Remove the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (see EVAP CANISTER REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Unbolt the under-hood fuse/relay box bolt and move the box aside.
  5. Disconnect the ECT sensor/ECT sensor 1 2P connector (A).

  6. Remove the ECT sensor/ECT sensor 1 (B).
  7. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C), then refill the radiator with engine coolant; '04-05 models (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT ), '06-08 models (see '06-08 MODELS ).
