July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

DTC 24-27: TCS Solenoid

  1. Retrieve all TCS DTCs. See RETRIEVING ABS/TCS TROUBLE CODES . If DTC 28 is also present, go to DTC 28: TCS RELAY . If DTC 28 is not present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect modulator unit 24-pin connector and ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A". Using DVOM, check for continuity of affected circuit between ground and appropriate terminal of ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A". See ABS/TCS COMPONENT TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. If continuity is indicated, repair short to ground in affected circuit between modulator unit and ABS/TCS control unit. If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect modulator unit harness connector. Using DVOM, recheck for continuity of affected circuit between ground and appropriate terminal of ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A". See ABS/TCS COMPONENT TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. If continuity is indicated, replace modulator unit. If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect modulator unit harness connector. Using fused jumper wire, connect modulator unit harness connector terminal of affected circuit to ground. See ABS/TCS COMPONENT TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table.
  5. Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and appropriate terminal of ABS/TCS control unit connector "A". See ABS/TCS COMPONENT TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  table. If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, repair open in affected circuit between ABS/TCS control unit connector "A" and modulator unit harness connector.
  6. Remove fused jumper wire and reconnect modulator unit harness connector. Remove TCS relay from ABS/TCS relay block. Using fused jumper wire, connect TCS relay plug-in connector terminal No. 2 to ground. See Figure.
  7. Using DVOM, measure resistance in affected circuit between ground and appropriate terminal of ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A". If measured resistance is between 8-10 ohms at 68°F (20°C), go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace modulator unit.
  8. Disconnect modulator unit harness connector. Remove jumper wire from TCS relay plug-in connector. Using DVOM, check for continuity between ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A" terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Green wire), 3 (Gray wire), 15 (Light Blue wire) and 16 (Light Blue wire). If continuity is indicated between any two circuits, repair short in appropriate wires between ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A" and modulator unit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  9. Reconnect modulator unit harness connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ABS/TCS control unit 26-pin connector "A" terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Green wire), 3 (Gray wire), 15 (Light Blue wire) and 16 (Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 3 ohms between any two circuits, replace modulator unit. If resistance is more than 3 ohms, check for poor connections at ABS/TCS control unit. Repair as necessary. If connections are okay, substitute known-good ABS/TCS control unit and retest system.
