Charging System Functional Test

- Visually check generator belt and wiring. Turn ignition switch to ON position and observe battery indicator light. If indicator light does not come on, go to next step. If indicator light comes on, go to step 3).
- Disconnect generator connector. Connect fused jumper between ground and generator connector terminal "L" (White/Blue wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery indicator light comes on, replace generator. If battery indicator light does not come on, check for burned out bulb, poor connection or faulty circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Start engine and observe battery indicator light. If indicator light goes out, system is operating normally. If indicator light does not go out, check charging system. See CHARGING SYSTEM TEST .
