Checking Ignition Timing

Operate engine until cooling fan comes on. Locate Ignition Timing Adjusting connector (2-pin). Connector is located under center console. Using short connector (07PAZ-010100 ), connect terminals of ignition timing adjuster connector together. See Fig 1 .

Red mark on crankshaft pulley should align with pointer. See Fig 2 . If Red mark and pointer are not aligned, adjust base ignition timing by turning distributor. See IGNITION TIMING . Remove short connector from ignition timing adjusting connector.
