Valve Guide Inspection

Check valve guide-to-stem oil clearance by subtracting valve stem outside diameter from valve guide inside diameter. Measure in 3 places along valve stem and valve guide. Replace valve guides if valve stem oil clearance is not within specification. See CYLINDER HEAD  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.

CAUTION: DO NOT  heat cylinder head using a torch or heat cylinder head to greater than 300°F (150°C). Excessive heat may loosen valve seats.
