Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

Note: Before replacing ECM, refer to precaution to avoid unnecessary replacement or damage to replacement ECM.
Service Precautions

CAUTION: As ECM consists of precision parts, be careful not to expose it to excessive shock.

Removal
1) Disconnect battery negative cable from battery.





2) Remove steering column hole cover.





3) Disconnect couplers from ECM (PCM), and remove ECM (PCM) from its bracket.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
- Connect couplers to ECM (PCM) securely.
