DP2 - Check Continuity of Vehicle Speed Sensor Harness Circuit

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, PCM disconnected.

- Disconnect Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).

- Measure resistance between test pin 3 at the breakout box and VSS (+) circuit at the VSS vehicle harness connector.

- Measure resistance between test pin 6 at the breakout box and VSS (-) circuit at the VSS vehicle harness connector.

- Is each resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Go to DP3. DP3 - Check VSS Signal Harness For Shorts to Power or Ground

No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Repeat test step DP1 drive cycle to verify elimination of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) or drive complaint. DP1 - Complete VSS Drive Cycle
