-- If the Engine Support Bridge :10 - 222 A does not have the hole indicated with the -arrow-, it must be made retroactively.

Dimension -a- = 225 mm.
Hole diameter = 12.5 mm

Procedure

NOTE:

The assembly mount bolts may only be loosened when the engine is supported in the installed position with the Engine Support Bridge :10-222 A .

-- Remove the foam insulation -1-.

-- Remove the right and left molded foam parts -arrows- for the plenum chamber seal.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the lock carrier retaining bracket on the left and right sides

-- Remove the lower mounts from the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28 :10 - 222 A /28 .

-- Install the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28-2 :10 - 222 A /28-2 .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for securing the engine support bridge on the lock carrier from the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28-2 :10-222 A /28-2 .

-- Tighten the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28-2 :10-222 A /28-2 on the lock carrier using the bolt -1-.

NOTE:

Use the bolts from the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28-2 :10-222 A /28-2 for attaching the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28 :10 - 222 A /28 . Do not use the bolts for the retaining bracket.

The front connection point can also be used for securing the adapter : 10-222 A /28-2 .

Bolt tightening specification -1- 8 Nm.

NOTE:

A second technician is needed to mount the Engine Support Bridge on the vehicle to prevent the Engine Support Bridge from tipping.

Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 29 :10 - 222 A /29 installation position:

"L" = -1- Adapter is positioned on the "right" side of the vehicle.
"R" Adapter is positioned on the "left" side of the vehicle.
Insert the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 29 :10 - 222 A /29 on both sides of the vehicle between the fender bolting edge and the fender bolting plate underneath.

Assemble the extractor:

-- Attach an Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 29 :10 - 222 A /29 with the lettering >>L<< on the right side of the Engine Support Bridge :10-222 A .

-- Slide both Engine Support - Joint Fixture :T40091/3 on the Engine Support Bridge - Square Pipe :10 - 222 A .

-- The bolts for the Engine Support - Joint Fixture :T40091/3 point in the direction of travel as shown.

-- Attach an Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 29 :10 - 222 A /29 with the lettering >>R<< on the left side of the Engine Support Bridge :10-222 A .

-- Place the Engine Support Bridge :10 - 222 A onto the longitudinal members.

-- Position the Engine Support Bridge :10 - 222 A as shown behind the hood support.

-- Position the Engine Support Bridge :10 - 222 A on the longitudinal member.

-- Slide the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 on the right side into the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28 :10 - 222 A /28 .

-- Slide the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle :10-222A on the right side onto the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 .

-- The threaded rod from the spindle is located as shown on the interior between the square pipes.

-- Slide the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 on the right side into the Engine Support - Joint Fixture :T40091/3 .

-- Slide the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 on the left side into the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 28 :10 - 222 A /28 .

-- Slide the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle :10-222A on the left side onto the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 .

-- The threaded rod from the spindle is located as shown on the interior between the square pipes.

-- Slide the Engine Support - Basic Set - Square Pipe :T40091/1 on the left side into the Engine Support - Joint Fixture :T40091/3 .

-- Attach the Engine/Gearbox Support Shackle (2 pc.) :10-222 A /12 to the right and left lifting eyes.

-- Engage the Engine Support Set - Spindle :10-222B on the Engine/Gearbox Support Shackle (2 pc.) :10 - 222 A /12 on the right side.

-- Engage the Engine Support Set - Spindle :10-222B on the Engine/Gearbox Support Shackle (2 pc.) :10 - 222 A /12 on the left side.

-- Align the engine support.

-- Tighten the threaded connections on the engine support bridge.

-- Tension the engine/transmission sub-assembly slightly with the Spindles.
