Battery, Disconnecting

The Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367- will be called battery monitoring control module in the information that follows.

 

Vehicles with 48V System:

-- Perform the "De-energize the 48V system" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .

Tip

The 12 V system is supported by the 48 V system via the Voltage Converter, 48 V/12 V -A7-. The 12V system can only be de-energized if the 48V system has been de-energized.

 

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Switch off the ignition and electrical equipment.

-- Place the vehicle key and other start authorization systems (such as smartphones) outside of the vehicle interior.

 

-- Open the battery negative terminal cover above the battery monitoring control module -3-.

-- Loosen the nut -1- and remove the battery terminal clamp with the battery monitoring control module -3- from the battery negative terminal.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- from the battery monitoring control module -3-.

 

Connect the battery.

Install in the reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

 

-- Check and clear the DTC memory using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
