Risk of injury and accident by accidentally engaging a selector lever position with the engine running.

Move the selector lever into "P" and set the parking brake before working on a running engine.

To prevent personal injury and damage to or destruction of electrical and electronic components, observe the following:

Risk of destroying electronic components when disconnecting the battery.

Follow the steps when disconnecting the battery.
Only disconnect the battery when the ignition is turned off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
