Condenser, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:

All open refrigerant circuit components must be sealed with suitable plugs to prevent any humidity from entering them.

-- Extract the refrigerant using the A/C Service Station.

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Move the lock carrier into the service position. Refer to SERVICE POSITION, SETTING AND RESETTING .

CAUTION:

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.

-- Remove the refrigerant lines at the condenser and seal them.

-- Remove the bolts -8-.

-- Remove the refrigerant lines -7- from the connection and re-seal with something suitable.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Move the radiator to the rear.

-- Remove the condenser -2- upward.

NOTE:

Note the diagram for installing the clips for the stone chip protective molding.

-- If equipped, remove the stone chip protective molding -5- by loosening the clips -6-.
