Rear Window, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector for the rear window defogger and window antenna.

-- Protect the connector for the rear window defogger and window antenna from damage.

-- Push the Awl -2- outward from the inside through the adhesive sealant.

-- Pull one end of the cutting wire -3- using the Awl -2- toward the vehicle interior direction of -arrow A-.

-- Place the cutting wire around the rear window -1- in direction of the -arrow-.

-- Push the Awl -2- outward from the inside through the adhesive sealant.

-- Pull the second end of the cutting wire -3- into the vehicle interior in direction of -arrow B-.

-- Secure the Reel Device -1- on the inside of the rear window at "position a".

-- Secure one end of the cutting wire to the Reel Device -1-.

-- Secure the other end of the cutting wire to the : VAG1351/1  -2- to counterhold.

-- Push the protective film or the : VAG1474/15  -3- between the rear window and the body flange.

-- Cut out the rear window up to "position a".

-- Reposition the Reel Device -1- in succession at "position b", "position c" and "position d" in direction of the -arrow- and cut out the rear window.

-- Open the rear lid -2- slightly as shown.

-- Lift the rear window -1- off the body flange starting at the top using two : VAG1344  in direction of -arrow A-.

-- Then pry out the rear window -1- under the rear lid -2- in direction of -arrow B-.
