Refrigerant Line From Condenser To Evaporator, Removing And Installing: Removing

Depending on the engine, remove parts of the air filter. Refer to AIR FILTER (CNLA, CRJA) , AIR FILTER (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) , AIR FILTER (CBPA, CKJA) and AIR FILTER (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or AIR FILTER (CVCA, CUUA, CUUB, DELA, DEBA, DEJA, DGMA) .

Depending on the engine, remove parts of the air duct. Refer to AIR FILTER (CNLA, CRJA) , INTAKE MANIFOLD (CNLA, CRJA) , AIR FILTER (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) , INTAKE MANIFOLD (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) , AIR FILTER (CBPA, CKJA) , INTAKE MANIFOLD (CBPA, CKJA) , AIR FILTER (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) , INTAKE MANIFOLD (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) or AIR FILTER (CVCA, CUUA, CUUB, DELA, DEBA, DEJA, DGMA) and/or INTAKE MANIFOLD (CVCA, CUUA, CUUB, DELA, DEBA, DEJA, DGMA) .

Remove, depending on the engine remove the components of the air duct charge air system. Refer to CHARGE AIR SYSTEM (CNLA, CRJA) , CHARGE AIR SYSTEM (CVCA, CUUA, CUUB, DELA, DEBA, DEJA, DGMA) , CHARGE AIR SYSTEM (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) and CHARGE AIR SYSTEM (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) .

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to FRONT BUMPER .

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

NOTE:

Depending on the engine, the heat shield may be installed in front of the expansion valve.

Loosen, but do not remove, the heat shield and pull it off slightly. The cooling system does not need to be opened.

Heat Shield

-- Remove the nut -1-.

-- Remove the lock washer -2-. Depending on the equipment version a clamp can be installed.

-- Remove the clamp -3-.

-- Loosen the heat shield for the expansion valve -4- from the bulkhead.

Vehicles With Refrigerant R134a 

-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to WORKING WITH A/C Service Station (R134a) .

Vehicles With Refrigerant R1234yf 

-- Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to WORKING WITH A/C SERVICE STATION (R1234yf) .

Continuation For All Vehicles 

CAUTION:

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.

-- Detach the coolant expansion tank and move it to the side.

-- Remove the bolt -1- on the lower refrigerant line -4-.

-- Disconnect the refrigerant line -4- from the expansion valve -3-.

-- Remove the bolt -1- on the lower refrigerant line -3-.

-- Remove the refrigerant line -3- from the condenser -2-.

-- Unclip and remove the refrigerant line -3- from the mountings.
