Battery A, Visual Inspection
Risk of strong corrosive battery acid.
- Keep a suitable remedy ready, for example soapy water.
Leaking battery acid.
Risk of acidic chemical burns on the human body and corrosion on the vehicle.
- Wear protective gloves, clothing and eyewear.
- The battery must not be tilted.
- Neutralize sulfuric acid as fast as possible.
Oxyhydrogen gas escaping due to loading and when resting.
Danger of explosion
- Prevent generating sparks.
- Take care to avoid short circuits.
- No open fire.
- Do not smoke.
- No naked flames.
- Discharge the static electricity, quickly touch the door striker.
- Only perform battery procedures in well-ventilated locations.
- Mind the correct side of the bleed hole.
-- Visually inspect if the battery case is damaged.
Risk of wires catching fire
- Correctly attach the battery clamps onto the battery terminal and tighten to the correct tightening specification.
-- Visually inspect if the battery terminals are damaged.
-- Visually inspect if the gas breather hose and the plugs are correctly seated.
