Windshield Spray Pattern, Checking, Wet Wiper Arm

The wet wiper arms are equipped with multiple nozzles. To check the spray pattern, the front nozzles -1- for the upward and downward movement on each wiper arm must be checked.

Procedure:

-- Activate the windshield washer system and assess the spray pattern.

For the upward and downward movement of the wiper arms, the stream of the front most upper or lower nozzle -arrows- must hit the window glass at a separate distance -point-.
The stream of the nozzles may not go over the window edge of the window glass.
Window cleaning fluid must also come out of the remaining nozzles on the wiper arms during upward and downward movement.

-- If the spray pattern does not meet these specifications, adjust the spray nozzles. Refer to WINDSHIELD SPRAY PATTERN, ADJUSTING, WET WIPER ARM .

NOTE:

When the wiper arms move upward, only the upper nozzles spray; when moving downward, only the lower wiper arm nozzles.

If there is a customer concern, connect the diagnostic tester (refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER, CONNECTING ) and perform the actuator test to check the spray pattern precisely.
