MECHATRONIC, Removing And Installing: Removing
- The oil pan is removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying Mechatronic with static discharge.
- Do not touch contacts in the Mechatronic connector with hands.
-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying the Mechatronic.
- If the transmission fluid pump cover is not removed, the long >>sensor arm<< will be damaged when removing the Mechatronic.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the transmission fluid pump cover and remove the cover -A-.
Always replace the cover and the transmission fluid pump bolts.
-- Touch a grounded object again before touching the Mechatronic.
-- Loosen and remove the bolts -1 through 10- in the specified sequence.
When handling the Mechatronic, be particularly aware of the >>long<< sensor arm -B-.
-- Push the transmission rearward and pull the Mechatronic carefully from the transmission housing until the sensor arm -B- on the rear is no longer in the transmission housing.
-- Carefully move the DSG Transmission Mechatronic -J743- downward.
Store Mechatronic Properly
Never lift the Mechatronic by the >>sensor arm<< and never let it rest on the arm.
If the >>sensor arm<< is damaged, the Mechatronic must be replaced.
