Tie Rod End

- 1.
Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Wheels and Tires .
- 2.NOTE: Do not use a hammer to separate the outer tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle or damage to the wheel knuckle may result.NOTE: Use care when installing the tie rod separator or damage to the outer tie-rod end boot may occur.
Separate the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle.
- 1.
Loosen the tie rod end jamb nut.- To install, tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
- 2.
Remove and discard the tie rod end nut.- To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
- 3.
Using the tie rod separator, Separate the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle.
- 1.
- 3.NOTE: Count and record the number of turns required to remove the outer tie-rod end for reference during installation.
Remove the tie rod end.
Installation

Check and if necessary, adjust front toe. Refer to Suspension System General Information .
