Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Lifting Tackle 3033
- Engine and Transmission Holder VAS6095
- Shop Crane VAS6100
- Lift Arm Extension VAS6101
- Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS6095/1-11
Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table VAS6131B.
- Engine secured with Articulated Joint Support VAS6131/13-7.
-- Attach the Lift Arm Extension VAS6101 to the Shop Crane VAS6100.
-- Engage the Lifting Tackle 3033 on the engine lifting eyes and on the shop crane as shown in the illustration.
-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.
-- Disconnect the left and right connectors -2- for the Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N144- / -N145- and remove from the bracket.
-- Remove the nut -1- and remove the bracket with the wiring harness from the subframe.
The installation position with the engine installed is shown in the illustration.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -2- from the engine mount.
Ignore items -1, 3 and 4-.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Power Steering Control Module -J500-.
-- Free up the wiring harness.
Ignore item -2-.
-- Remove the Articulated Joint Support VAS6131/13-7 from the engine.
-- Raise engine from engine carrier.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the left engine support.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the right engine support.
-- Secure the starter on the engine.
Ignore -item 1-.
-- Secure the engine to the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 using the Engine/Transmission Holder - Universal Mounting VAS6095/1 and Engine/Transmission Holder - V6 TDI Bracket VAS6095/1-11 and tighten to 40 Nm, as illustrated.
