Power Steering Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

For all repair work, especially in the engine compartment due to the tight working conditions, observe the following:

  • Route lines of all types (for example for fuel, hydraulic, EVAP canister system, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, vacuum) correctly. The original path must be followed.
  • Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.

-- Remove the design cover carefully from the four retaining pins in direction of -arrows-.

-- Remove the air guide hose -1-.

-- If equipped, loosen the air guide pipe -4- in the center and move it upward. Remove the screw -1 and 2- and loosen the screw -3-.

NOTE:

Be sure not to damage any parts when moving the air guide pipe -4-.

-- Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt.

-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to Crankshaft, Cylinder Block .

-- Remove bolts -arrows-, counterhold ribbed belt pulley using Wrench - Pin Type: 3212  while doing so.

-- Clamp off the suction hose using Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm: 3094  .

-- Open spring clamp and pull suction hose -1- off the power steering pump.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and remove the pressure line from the power steering pump.

-- Remove bolts -arrows- and remove power steering pump -1- from retainer.
