Esp Sensor Unit -G419-, Removing And Installing: Removing

The Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200-, the Rotation Rate Sensor -G202- and the Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor -G251- are installed in one housing under the center console.

After replacing the ESP Sensor Unit -G419-, the basic setting for the Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200- and the Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor -G251- must be performed.

WARNING:

Excessive shaking may damage the Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200-, the Rotation Rate Sensor -G202- and the Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor -G251-.

Component location: in the direction of travel behind the shifting mechanism, beneath the center console. 

-- Remove the shifting mechanism trim. Refer to STORAGE COMPARTMENTS, COVERS AND TRIM .

-- Fold up the center console armrest and remove the liner mat and cover. Refer to STORAGE COMPARTMENTS, COVERS AND TRIM .

WARNING:

When working on the Airbag Control Module -J234-, observe the general safety precautions for working on airbag, belt tensioner and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnic components). Refer to AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER AND BATTERY CUT-OUT UNITS, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND DISPOSING .

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the airbag control module. Refer to AIRBAG .

-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the ESP Sensor Unit - G419-.

-- Move the wiring harness that is routed in front of the ESP Sensor Unit -G419- to the side.

-- Remove the protective cap from the front nut.

-- Remove the two nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the ESP Sensor Unit -G419-.
