Engine And Transmission, Separating: Disconnecting

-- Clamp the coolant hoses with :3093  or :3094  and remove the hoses from the transmission fluid cooler.

-- Seal off the transmission fluid cooler connections with sealing plugs taken from :VAS6122  .

-- Remove the starter -A-. Refer to STARTER .

It is advised to remove the >>lower<< bolt first.

-- Turn the twist lock on the mechatronic connector -1- >>counter-clockwise<< and remove the connector.

-- Loosen all the upper engine/transmission connecting bolts. :T10179  can be used for this.

NOTE:

The illustration shows the engine and transmission installed.

There is a bolt inside the hole for the starter -arrow-. Use :T10061  to remove this bolt.

-- Support the transmission with the :VAS6100  before removing the last bolts.

-- Remove the lower engine/transmission connecting bolts.

-- Separate the transmission from the engine; when doing this, guide the transmission.

-- Remove the remaining engine/transmission connecting bolts.
