Fuel Injector Seals, Replacing: Procedure
Replacing the Combustion Chamber Seal (Teflon® ):
-- Remove the intake manifold upper section. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Clean the fuel injector carefully.
-- Cut the seal carefully with a knife -arrow-. When doing, make sure the blade of the knife does not come in contact with the valve body.
-- Remove the old seal and clean the groove -arrow-. Remove any deposits (coking) with a brass wire brush.
-- Place a new seal -1- on the :T10133/5 . Push the seal gently onto the :T10133/6 as far as it will go using :T10133/5 (the knurled side faces the seal -1-).
-- Turn the :T10133/6 (the knurled side no longer faces the seal) and push the seal -1- all the way onto the :T10133/5 .
-- Place the :T10133/5 with the seal from the front onto the fuel injector. Push the seal farther onto the fuel injector using :T10133/6 .
The seal is still not sitting in its groove.
-- Remove the :T10133/6 and the :T10133/5 .
-- Push the seal into the groove by hand.
-- Place :T10133/11 on the valve body.
-- Push the :T10133/7 all the way over the seal on the :T10133/11 .
-- Remove the :T10133/7 .
-- Push the :T10133/8 all the way over the seal on the :T10133/11 .
-- Remove the :T10133/8 .
The combustion chamber seal now has the correct installed dimension.
