Overview - Selector Mechanism
NOTE:
Lubricate the bearing areas and the sliding surfaces.
- Gearshift Shaft with Gearshift Cover
- Clip
- For the relay lever
- Selector Shaft Seal
- Replacing. Refer to SELECTOR SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING .
- Selector Lever
- Insert so that master spline aligns with shift rod. Refer to Installing the Transmission Shift Lever
- To install, lubricate. Refer to Relay Lever: Lubricate the Following Areas Very Carefully When Installing.
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Installation position. Refer to Selector Lever/Relay Lever Installed Position .
- Nut
- 25 Nm
- Replace after removing
- Self-locking
- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the shift cable to the transmission shift lever
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on linkage lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Allocation. Refer to Cable Retainer Allocation .
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Nut
- 20 Nm
- For the cable bracket
- Grommet
- Cable mounting bracket to transmission
- Quantity: 3
- Spacer
- Quantity: 3
- Lock Washer
- Replace after removing
- Be careful not to damage the cables when removing them
- Selector Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer
- Installation position. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION .
- Gearshift Cable
- Attach to the cable retainer
- Installation position. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM INSTALLATION POSITION .
- Seal
- Replace after removing the gearshift housing
- Between the gearshift housing and the underbody
- Self-adhesive
- Affix to the gearshift housing
- Selector Housing
- Hex Bolt
- 20 Nm
- For the cable bracket
- Quantity: 2
- Cable Bracket
- Adjust after installing the selector mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Cable Retainer
- For attaching the selector cable to the relay lever
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Do not interchange, cable locking mechanisms for selector cable on linkage lever and for shift cable on transmission shift lever are different
- Allocation. Refer to Cable Retainer Allocation .
- Remove from the relay lever. Refer to With the Selector Relay Lever Removed: Pry the Selector Cable Retainer out of the Selector Relay Lever.
- Press onto the relay lever. Refer to Installing the Selector Cable Retainer on the Relay Lever
- Relay Lever
- Lubricating. Refer to Relay Lever: Lubricate the Following Areas Very Carefully When Installing.
- Installation position. Refer to Selector Lever/Relay Lever Installed Position .
- Adjust the gearshift mechanism after installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .
- Relay Lever and Cable Retainer, Removing and installing. Refer to Relay Lever with Cable Retainer, Removing and Installing
